Government Model Senior Secondary School

This Prestigious institution was established in the year 1975 and has a centrally placed location in the Port Blair. This is an English medium school bestowing meritorious services to the community from the past many years. Academic
Scope

Provides an opportunity to the interested parties to educate their wards in a safe and vibrant school environment.


Purpose

To cater the educational needs of the community as per the pre-determined admission and withdrawal criterion.


Catchment Area

Aberdeen Bazar, RGT Road, Aberdeen Village, Shisty Nagar, Dugnabad, Biggielane and Gurudwara Lane. On production of Family Identity Card/ Voters ID/Adhar Card/ any document approved by A & N Administration.

 
Admission
Pri Primary

Admission to Pre Primary class begin in First week of April and will be open till Sept. Birth certificate to be produced for proof of Date of Birth. Admission will be granted to students over 4 yrs.

Class- I

AdmiAdmission to First class begin in First week of April and will be open till Sept. Birth certificate / Declaration of date of birth by the parents to be produced for proof of Date of Birth. Admission will be granted to students over 5 yrs.

Science

Students of Model School with 6.0 Grade Points in English, Maths & Science. Remaining vacancies if any will be filled up purely merit with minimum 7.0 in English, Maths and Science in AISSE.

Commerce 

Students of Model school with 5.0 Grade Points in Eng, Maths and Science who are opting Maths and I.P.. For Class XI E all desirious candidates of Model School.

Humanities 

Students of Model School will be given admission irrespective of any criterion. Students of other school will be given admission purely on merit basis to fill up vacancies available.

Vocational 

IT Stream/ FMM Stream maximum 30 students will be given admission on merit basis. 60 % seats reserved for Model School students and 40 % for other schools. However minimum Grade Point 5.0 in Maths in AISSE required for opting Maths as an elective subject.

Other Classes 

Admission in other classes than the ones mentioned above will be on availability of vacancies. Priority will be given to wards of Govt. employees coming from other Islands/ Main-land on transfer to Port Blair.

NOTE: 

Admission to Tribal Students in all classes given irrespective of the above mentioned criteria.

Monday Idly, Sambar, Chutney with one vada 
Tuesday Veg Pulav, Cholay Aloo Sabji 
Wednesday Plain Rice, Dal and Aloo Mutter mixed Sabji with egg 
Thursday Khichdi with mixed vegetable and pickle 
Friday Fried Rice, Grreen Peas, Aloo-Soyabean Sabji with egg 
Saturday White Rice, Dal, mixed vegetable with chana dal aloo sabji 

Roles & Responsibilities of Mid-Day-Meals Committee

In this regard the roles & responsibilities of MDM committee are-

  • The Committee will provide the menu of MDM to the supplier MDM.

  • To check regularly whether all students of elementary classes from class I-VIII have their Mid-Day-Meals regularly.

  • To ensure the quantity and quality of Mid-Day-Meals.

  • To ensure the regular visit of medical representatives (FSO) once in a week/in a month.

  • To encourage students to attend school more regularly.

  • To make school MDM Monitoring Committee and Mothers Committee more active to achieve the goals of MDM scheme.

  • Improving the nutritional status of children.

Vegetables 78 gm.

1 egg per student twice in a week(Wednesday & Friday)
