About the School

Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School, one of the oldest and reputed schools of this island had its foundation on 16th August 1957. It was upgraded to Girls Higher Secondary Multipurpose School in July 1959 and was further upgraded to Senior Secondary School on 26th January 1962. Since its inception the school has the privilege to produce many prominent lady officers who are rendering their services for the welfare of the Island and the Nation.
